MITCHELL LAUNIUS | INSTRUCTOR

Mitch owns and operates 30West IP and provides pilot training on International Procedures. Mitch spent 34 years in the cockpit and acquired over 13,000 hours of flight time flying worldwide. Over 9000 hours of his experience is in Bombardier and Gulfstream aircraft. He is an experienced safety officer and was also the IS-BAO project manager for a fortune 500 flight department. He has presented on Safety and Operations topics at the NBAA International Operators Conference and the Canadian Business Aviation Association Convention. For many years he served on the NBAA International Operators Committee and as the North Atlantic Regional Lead. He was also a member of an FAA working group on General Aviation International Authorizations and Tabletop Exercises (GIATE). In 2020 he was selected to represented IBAC as a member of the ICAO Personal Training and Licensing Panel (PTLP). Mitch was named as a 2020 recipient of the NBAA Tony Kern Professionalism in Aviation Award for his contributions to the business aviation community. In 2022 he was awarded the NBAA Guy Gribble IOC Appreciation Award for his years of service.

JOE SEARS | INSTRUCTOR

Joe Sears joined the 30West IP team in October 2019 bringing with him a varied background in aviation with a focus on pilot training and evaluation. Joe started his aviation career path in 1991. During the 1990s, he earned his Associate of Applied Arts degree in aviation from Mountain View College, followed by his initial CFI, as well as his Bachelor of Applied Arts and Science degree in occupational training and development from the University of North Texas. He also served in the US Army earning his FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist certificate. In the late 90s through the mid 2000s, Joe furthered his piloting experience in the part 91 corporate and part 121 air carrier arenas while earning his FAA ATP certificate. From the mid 2000s until joining 30 West IP, he performed the duties of FAA Training Center Instructor/Evaluator and EASA Synthetic Flight Instructor/Examiner while continuing to occasionally fly part 91 corporate trips. Joe has been instrumental in developing and launching the 30West IP eLearning program. He also played a pivotal role in our being recognized as a FAA Training Statement of Compliance (TSOC) training provider.
